YOKATV IPx2 PRO Unveiled: Amlogic S905Y5 Meets 4GB RAM

YOKATV has launched the IPx2 PRO, a 4K streaming box that shares its Amlogic S905Y5 processor with the IPx1 PRO but moves up in several areas: 4GB of memory instead of 2GB, the newer YOKATV Online 2 IPTV player, a redesigned chassis, and a backlit voice remote. MSRP sits at around $139.99.

Both boxes run Android 14 AOSP with access to the Google Play Store and YOKA App Store, and both target the same audience: families upgrading an older TV, expat viewers, and anyone managing their own legally authorised streaming sources.

IPx2 PRO vs. IPx1 PRO

The two boxes share a platform, so the differences are easy to isolate. Processing, graphics, storage, and connectivity carry over unchanged. What separates them is memory, the IPTV player generation, HDR format coverage, the remote, and the casing.

The Amlogic S905Y5 Platform

Both PRO boxes run the same chip, so performance differences come from memory rather than silicon. The S905Y5 is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor at 2.0GHz rated at 20000 DMIPS, with ARM Mali-G31 MP2 graphics. Codec coverage is broad, and AV1 decoding is the notable inclusion, since streaming services increasingly use it to deliver a given quality at lower bitrates.

Android 14 AOSP and YOKATV Online 2

The box runs Android 14 AOSP, the open-source build rather than a Google-certified Android TV or Google TV platform. Because it is not certified, streaming services that check for Google and Netflix validation may run at reduced resolution or decline to install. Anyone relying on mainstream subscription apps in 4K should confirm this before ordering.

On top of that sits YOKATV Online 2, the newer generation of the company’s IPTV media player. It supports Xtream Codes, Stalker Portals, and M3U playlists, covering the formats most IPTV services use. As YOKATV states, the player manages the viewer’s own legally authorised streaming sources; the box supplies the software, not the content.

Connectivity & Hardware Changes

The network options match the IPx1 PRO exactly: Wi-Fi 5 runs across 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0 handles accessories. The Ethernet port operates at 10/100Mbps, so Wi-Fi will often be the faster route for high-bitrate 4K streams.

The bundled remote combines Bluetooth and IR with Google Assistant voice control, adding a backlight and advanced learning functionality so it can take over TV power and volume.

Price and Availability

YOKATV quotes an MSRP of around $139.99 for the IPx2 PRO. Retail listings are not yet available. Buyers with questions can contact YOKATV directly at support@yokatv.com, and we will update this article once regional listings appear.
